#1 Interaction Between Cannabidiol, Meal Ingestion, and Liver Function
Study Began May 10th of 2021 and was last updated on July 22, 2021 at 4:00 pm
According to a recently done poll, over 20 million Americans regularly use CBD.On top of this, 64 million Americans have reported trying a CBD product at least once within the last couple of years. This number has subsequently gone up since the passing of the 2018 farm bill, which has led the way for hemp-derived products, such as CBD, to become much more prevalent across North America. The sudden build-up of new CBD users has outpaced our understanding of the associated potential risks and benefits, and the way in which it is processed within the body.
In this Study, researchers wish to continue an ongoing collaboration with Caliper Foods, a CBD Manufacturer based in Colorado. The Focus of the Research project is in three primary areas. Number one will be to compare the pharmacokinetics of different formulations of ingestible CBD. The second focus will be for the researchers to examine the potential two-way interaction between a meal and one formulation of ingestible CBD. And lastly, Researchers will examine the influence of different formulations of CBD on markers of liver function.
We are very excited to see the results of this study. As we already know from previous studies done in 2019, CBD does not do any harm to the liver. This study will further help us to understand whether or not CBD can actually help with liver function and ingestion issues.
#2 CBD, Immune Function, and Neural Health
Study Began on May 15th, and conclude on May 1st 2022
Chronic inflammation is associated with a variety of the negative health conditions which are common in our society. Most of you probably already know it for its role in the development of diseases such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and more. Chronic inflammation is also linked to many of the underlying factors associated with disease development including depression, anxiety, and fatigue. A subset of white blood cells known as natural killer cells, or NK cells play an important role in the coordination of inflammation in the body.
Now there have been previous studies which aimed at controlling chronic inflammation as well as enhancing the NK cell numbers and activity. Unfortunately, relatively few have been administered without significant barriers. Researchers believe CBD could have potential, in the fight against chronic inflammation. The issue is that there is very little information gathered about humans that addresses the potential of CBD to improve your health and immune function. This exciting study is going to explore the effects after 8-weeks of CBD supplementation on mental and physical health, sleep measures, and NK cell number.
#3 CBD for the Treatment of Alcohol Use Disorder
This Study will begin on October 1st, 2021 and conclude on May 31st 2022
This study is a double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study designed to assess the efficacy of full spectrum CBD and broad spectrum CBD, compared to a placebo, to reduce drinking in participants with moderate alcohol use disorder according to the DSM-V.
If eligible for the study, subjects will be randomized to receive one of the conditions for 8 weeks.
This research is going to test whether or not a moderate dose of CBD will lead to the reduction in alcohol consumption. We will also find out if full-spectrum has more of an effect then broad-spectrum CBD on this matter. This Study could result in results that could help many with alcohol use disorder across the nation.
#4 Use of CBD Oil in the Treatment of Panic Attack-Related Fear
This Study began on January 4th, 2021 and will end in January of 2022
The purpose for this study is to test whether CBD can interfere with the storage of pathological fear memory in humans. In other words, they will be testing to find out whether or not CBD can affect our fear memory interface in such a way that would relieve a panic attack and even PTSD(Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).
Participants of the study will all have some form of panic disorder. A third of the subjects will be set to memory reactivation + CBD, the second third will be assigned to memory reactivation + a placebo. The final third will be given just CBD.
We can’t wait to see if CBD can help with panic disorders.
#5 Cannabinoid Tablets for the Treatment of Pain From Osteoarthritis of the Knee
This Study Began on July 29th, 2021 and will Conclude October 30th 2021
This study is being conducted to evaluate the efficacy of CBD tablets as a better pain reliever then a placebo for those with severe chronic pain due to osteoarthritis of the knee. Participants of the study will be enrolled for a maximum of 36 days, this includes a 7-day screening period, then a 28 day period of active product administration. Once completed, there will be a post-treatment follow-up within 24 hours. We will definitely be waiting for the results of this one.
