fter spending over five years as a health expert on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Dr. Oz now has his own one hour spot each week to discuss viewers’ health-and-wellness concerns. So when it comes to the newly popular wellness craze CBD we wanted to know what Dr. Oz thought.
Dr. Oz is known as being a proponent of alternative medicine so we did some research to see what he thinks about Cannabidiol (or CBD), the good and the bad.
Cannabidiol (CBD) has become a popular alternative to prescription drugs. It is also the number one selling herbal supplement ingredient in 2019, topping turmeric, elderberry and wheatgrass. With the number of successful cases in treating joint and inflammation-related concerns, restlessness and anxiety increasing by the second, it comes of no surprise that one’s curiosity about CBD-rich cannabis oil will have been stimulated. But, here’s the thing, not all products are what they claim to be nor are they created equally.
Unfortunately, this is the case with the CBD industry just like any other popularly trending niche within the multi-billion dollar dietary supplement industry. When a good or service makes it to the spotlight, there will be some bad players who use it to their advantage only to make gains. That said, some are easy to catch, but others, not so much.
The problem that stems from falling into the traps of said scammers and schemers, especially when it comes to purchasing CBD, is that one’s health is potentially on the line. Given the industry lacks regulation, the risk of falling for a CBD scam becomes highly likely.
So with the biggest issue being fake products with little to no CBD. How do you know where to shop for CBD?
According to Dr. Oz, the secret to buying good CBD products is to look for Price Point that matches the value of CBD and a Certificates of Analysis for that product. But what exactly is a certificate of analysis? Dr. Gupta answers that by stating “When you think of CBD you should also think COA”. COA stands for Certificate of analysis which is a independent lab report that will show you exactly what is in the product that you’re buying. Dr. Gupta expressed how important it is to always look for a COA by saying “If there is no certificate of analysis you might as well just put your money back in your pocket”.
Dr. Oz also mentioned that if you have tried CBD but it didn’t work then it probably wasn’t a legitimate CBD product.
So if you’re looking to buy CBD, Dr. Oz explains that you need to make sure that the price of the product makes sense, to always look for a Certificate of Analysis and to adjust your dosage to work for you. If you’re interested in trying CBD for yourself and you need help finding the right products or with dosage check out our Dosage calculator here as well as out Certificate of Analysis page were we have verified lab reports for all of our CBD products.
